Chardham Yatra from Patna

Hindus are believed to visit Chardham at least once in their lifetime and is a matter of great spiritual importance. Along with the religious aspect, these sites are great for sightseeing as they are all located in the best of nature and beauty. If you happen to travel from Patna to Chardham Yatra, following are the ways you can make the most of your journey!

Duration: 11 nights and 12 days Chardham Yatra from Patna

Day 1: Patna to Delhi to Haridwar

An trip from Patna to the four Dhams can be anywhere between 10-12 days. During this period you can visit the holy shrines and get the best of the region. You can reach Delhi from Patna via train or air. The train journey normally takes between 15-18 hours while various airlines can take anywhere up to 1.5 to 2 hours. Depending on your arrival in Delhi, your train will be booked for the next destination, Haridwar.

Day 2: Haridwar to Barkot

Once you reach Haridwar, you will be guided to your respective hotel and you can relax there for the meanwhile. Once you’ve relaxed from the overnight journey and had breakfast, the next destination is Barkot which is about 200 kilometres.

Day3: Barkot to Yamunotri and Back

The next morning, from Barkot we drive down to Jankichatti, Yamunotri. You reach Yamunotri after a 6.5 km trek. A visit to the Yamunotri Temple and a dip in the Jamunabai Kund are some activities listed for this destination. After this, you will check into your hotel back at Barkot, making this a successful trek to the shrine.

Day 4: Barkot to Uttarkashi

This day we leave Barkot for Uttarkashi. This is a 4 hour long drive and when we leave early morning, we are expected to reach by noon. On our way, Prakateswar Mahadev Temple is a stopover where you pay your respect. On reaching Uttarkashi and taking a break you can then visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple.

Day 5: Uttarkashi to Gangotri and back

Here we leave early to reach Gangotri, the second Dham and are back to Uttarkashi the same day. A dip in the holy Ganga not only blesses you but takes away your sins.

Day 6: Uttarkashi to Guptkashi

You start early from Uttarkashi for Guptkashi in the Gharwal Hills. On the way you stop to witness the Tehri Dam and some famous shrines.

Day 7: Guptkashi to Gaurikund to Kedarnath

This day covers two destinations namely Gaurikund and Kedarnath. We travel directly to Kedarnath and stop at the Shankaracharya Samadhi to pay respect. The night halt is at Kedarnath and you can sleep to rest enough for next morning.

Day 8: Kedarnath to Guptkashi

After visiting all the famous shrines and sites, we return to our hotel in Guptkashi. A good meal followed by an evening puja and dinner conclude the day.

Day 9: Guptkashi to Badrinath

We then head to the city of Badrinath from Guptkashi. This holy town falls in the Chamoli District and is one of the Dhams of the pilgrimage. The Badrinath Temple and the Badri Narayanan Temple are the must visit shrines here.

Day 10 to Day 12: The remaining days we cover Srinagar from Badrinath. After spending a night there we head to Rishikesh. Once the sightseeing and religious visit concludes, pilgrims head back to Delhi and then to Patna. This marks the end of the Chardham Pilgrimage for those travelling from the beautiful city of Patna.
